Every way to get a lead in
Five ways a lead reaches your list in Lead Manager: typed in by hand, pasted from an email, read off a screenshot, imported from a spreadsheet, or sent in by your website or lead provider.
A lead can reach your list five ways. Four of them start at the blue add button on your leads list; the fifth runs on its own, from your website or your lead provider.
| Way in | Best for | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Add Lead Manually | Someone standing in front of you, or a phone call you are taking now | Every plan |
| Paste Lead Information | The email or message a listing site or your website sent you | Every plan |
| Import from Screenshot | A lead that reached you as a picture, forwarded from a phone | Pro and Team |
| Bulk Import Leads | A spreadsheet of leads you already have, moved in one go | Pro and Team |
| Your lead provider or website, through the API | Leads that should arrive on their own, all day, without anyone typing | Pro and Team |
Good to know
- Every lead is either Individual or Business. You pick that when it is created, and it cannot be changed afterwards — a lead entered as the wrong one has to be entered again.
- Every lead can carry a Lead Source (optional), so you can see where it came from, and a Category (optional), which is the column it sits in on your list.
- Every lead gets a coloured dot on its row that moves from green to orange to red as the hours pass since you last dealt with it. You choose those hours under Interaction Dot Aging in Settings.
- Tags are yours to invent. Add them under Manage Tags in Settings, then put them on any lead.

- Paste a lead from an email
Copy the email or message a lead came in on, paste it into Lead Manager, and it fills in the name, phone, email and vehicle for you.
