Import a spreadsheet of leads

Move a CSV or Excel file of leads into Lead Manager: choose the file, tell it which column is which, and import.

On the Pro and Team plans.

A phone showing Lead Manager. The add button opens a menu, Bulk Import Leads is chosen, Personal Leads is picked, a CSV file is chosen, each column is set to the lead property it holds, and the import finishes with a summary.

Leads you already have — in an old system, in a spreadsheet a manager keeps — move across in one go. The only part that needs your attention is telling the app which column is which.

Steps

  1. Open the add menu

On your leads list, tap the blue add button at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Choose Bulk Import Leads

Pick Bulk Import Leads from the menu.

  3. Say what is in the file

Under Import Type, pick Personal Leads for people or Business Leads for companies. The two need different columns, so get this right before you pick the file.

  4. Choose the file

Tap Select XLSX / CSV File and pick it. The screen fills with the file name, the first rows of it, and one row for every column it found.

  5. Tell it which column is which

Under Map Columns to Lead Properties, set each of your columns to the lead property it holds — your name column to firstName, your phone column to phoneNumber, and so on. Any column you leave alone is not imported.

  6. Import

Tap Import Leads. A line at the bottom tells you how many arrived, how many were duplicates, and how many rows were skipped.

Good to know

  • Every way to get a lead in

Five ways a lead reaches your list in Lead Manager: typed in by hand, pasted from an email, read off a screenshot, imported from a spreadsheet, or sent in by your website or lead provider.

  • Find and merge leads entered twice

The duplicate scanner groups leads that share an email or a phone number, so you can merge the ones that are the same person and ignore the ones that are not.

  • Send leads in from your website or lead provider

Create an API key in Lead Manager and hand it to your website or your lead provider, so new leads arrive on your list on their own.
